We offer an Alternative Education Provision for young people who have been excluded from mainstream education. Working predominantly with Key Stage 4 students, our main contract being with the New Leaf Centre, we find that students adapt well to the nurturing setting, with attendance, attitudes and behaviour often improving over time.
Students study Functional Skills, English and Maths (an accepted GCSE equivalent for further education and apprenticeships) as well as a range of qualifications, awards and courses from the awarding body ASDAN, which helps to develop and strengthen their personal development and skills. We complete specific careers focused activities with our Year 11 students to help them to develop an awareness of their choices when they leave, and support them in applying for Further Education courses to ensure that they aspire to leave with the most positive outcome possible to them.
We pride ourselves in our high quality pastoral support, this helps to nurture our students who often can have complex needs and chaotic lives which has led to their exclusion from mainstream education, we work hard to safeguard and support all students to ensure that they engage and are making positive and successful choices in life.
