Families First For Children Support Worker
Facilitate the family kelp model of families first pathfinder for children, mentoring families in the North of the borough who enter into the families first pathfinder family help model. To also provide child protection advocacy for families who need support when finding themselves at Child Protection conference.
Duties will include –
– To build relationships with children, young people and their families.
– Mentor allocated families who are under the FFfC pathfinder family help, encouraging consequential thinking and promoting positive changes to improve wellbeing and family cohesion.
– Advocate for children, young people and their families with other professionals including children’s services, education providers, youth justice and other providers.
– Be the voice for and encourage the voice of the family, ensuring that they are heard and understood.
– Guide and prepare the family through the Child Protection Conference processes, ensuring that they are aware of the statutory and formal processes and understand their role and the role of others.
– Have a fluid caseload of 10 families requiring support at one time.
– Enhance the support offered by referring into community activities to broaden the offer and encourage engagement in positive activities.
– Keep up to date case records for families who are being supported.

Pay Scale – £29,093
Hours – 37.5 hours per week, FIXED TERM UNTIL 31ST MARCH 2026
